Here is the evolution of the hunting knives most loved by hunters around the world, the EKA Swedblade G5 and G6.
The double blade for gutting and skinning ungulates that inspired many other producers, now with a drop point cutting blade, completely flat, perfect for working on the carcass of game.
The two blades alternate simply by pressing a button and the back of the main blade has an initial depression to facilitate finger pressure during the working phases.
Both the Swedblade G5 and G6 use the extremely robust Sandvik 12C27 steel for the blades, brought to a hardness of 59 HRC, a guarantee of truly exceptional strength and edge retention . The handle is very ergonomic to facilitate perfect grip with both blades and is made of Proflex™ , a synthetic material with a particularly effective non-slip grip.
PROFLEX™ is an elastomer (a tough, elastic material, a rubbery polymer) that is soft to the touch, but provides a very solid grip and excellent grip.
As for safety, the simplicity of unlocking the mechanism that allows the two blades to rotate, interchanging during use, has been further improved.
Here are the details of the new G5 and G6 versions:
• New drop point flat ground blade design, for better performance on the field.
• Improved blade release mechanism for greater safety and ease of use.
• Updated Kydex sheath for improved carry ease and security.
• Serial number on each knife for registration and warranty.
The difference between the G5 and G6 is in the type of internal mechanism. The G6 can be completely disassembled via a button located on the lower part of the handle. An ingenious system to completely disassemble and easily reassemble the knife, to remove hair and encrusted processing residues even in the most unreachable places.
